…Over Gov’t Official’s Grip on Oil Imports
There is growing disquiet within the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST) and across Ghana’s oil industry following revelations that a top government official has positioned himself as the central figure in all oil import negotiations into the country.
Multiple sources within BOST, Ghana Oil (GOIL) and among oil industry stakeholders say the official has taken over key negotiations for the procurement of oil consignments, sidelining technical teams and traditional institutional protocols.
His involvement, according to insiders, has raised serious concerns about transparency, fairness, and institutional autonomy.
“What we are witnessing is unprecedented,” one senior BOST source told DAYBREAK on condition of anonymity. “This individual has made it clear that without his blessing, there will be no oil imports into the country”.
