The Military Secretary’s publication of 28th April 2025 with its direct authority from President John Mahama is aptly described as the mother, grandmother and great grandmother of all KOKOFU PROMOTIONS and APPOINTMENTS in the annals of the Ghana Armed Forces for very justifiable reasons.
Apart from giving five (5) obvious Major General appointments to their politically and ethnocentrically correct brothers (Nyebros), Generals Agyapong and Gbetanu have also strategically positioned their tribesmen in most of the sensitive appointments in the Ghana Armed Forces. Those earmarked for the Major General appointments are:

Further analyses of the above KOKOFU promotions and appointments would reveal that most of the command /operational, training, administrative and logistical appointments have gone to reward officers of the Home Region of the eternal founder and father of the National Democratic Congress.
General Gbetanu, in particular, with the solid support of the Chief of Defence Staff, has done justice to the vision of his brother-in-law. It is strongly believed that General Gbetanu soared over his competitors and even seniors, to become the Chief of Army Staff mainly because of his brother-in-law, Major General Sampson Kudjo Adeti (GH/2025), Retired.
Major General SK Adeti was the Chief of Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces in 2016 when John Mahama suffered his most humiliating electoral defeat as an incumbent President, Head of State and Government of Ghana and the Commander-in Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.
Major General SK Adeti was appointed the Chief of Staff of the GAF with a mission to ensure victory for the then unpopular and failing NDC government of President John Mahama. There were a lot of schemes, operations and “way and means” under the command of General Adeti. But the wish of the Lord and the good people of Ghana prevailed over all evil machinations. General SK Adeti was very bitter about his early retirement from the GAF.
Providence was on his side in the 2024 elections. He was and still is one of the brains in the NDC operations in 2024. Having being extremely instrumental in the victory of the NDC in 2024, General Adeti ensured that his brother-in-law, General LK Gbetanu secured the appointment of the Chief of Army Staff in order to continue with his unfinished business. It is therefore not surprising and strange to see General Gbetanu surround himself mainly with his kinsmen (Nyebros).
With General Gbetanu as Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Brigadier General LK Atror as Chief of Staff Army Headquarters, Brigadier General AK Botsoe as the Deputy Chief Staff Officer (Administration),Brigadier General WK Abotsi as Deputy Chief Staff Officer (P&P), Brigadier General SSN Mezo as Deputy Chief Staff Officer (Intelligence), Colonel R Amedeka as Chief G3 (Operations) and Colonel GM Agboado as Chief G7 Army Headquarters, Colonel FK Botchie as Chief G1 (Personnel), all is set for Generals Gbetanu Agyapong and Adeti to execute all their plans of persecuting Akan Officers suspected to be sympathizers of or to have worked with or for the NPP Administration.
At the command levels, where real operations are conducted, Generals Agyapong and Gbetanu with the support of General Adeti and others in the NDC have appointed Brigadier General FWK Agbebo as GOC, Northern Command, Brigadier General AS Ogaja as GOC Central Command and Brigadier General W Dzandu-Hedidor as Joint Task Force Commander for Operation Koudalgou under Headquarters Northern Command.
Colonel LS Agbedoawu controls operations at Southern Command as the Chief Operations Officer.
In order to ensure that recruitment and enlistment of other ranks and officers respectively are done to suit the whims and caprices of the Ewe hegemony, the following critical appointments have all been given to the kinsmen (Nyebros) of Generals Agyapong, Gbetanu and Adeti.
Brigadier General CK Lithur is the Commander of the Ghana Military Academy and automatically becomes a member or possibly President of the GMA Selection Board. As the Commandant of GMA, Brigadier General CK Lithur ensures or determines those who pass out successful from the Ghana Military Academy. Officer, Naval and Flight Cadets will only undergo successfully training to become Commissioned Officers at the discretion and decision of Brigadier General Lithur.
As if that were not enough, Colonel MK Asuka is the Director Manpower Planning. He is the Alpha and Omega of enlistment of officers. The entire process of enlistment of future commissioned officers will depend on Colonel Asuka. He will coordinate with the Chief of Defence Staff, Chief Of Army Staff, other Service Chiefs, Directors of Administration and Training at the General and Service Headquarters. Most of the occupants of these appointments are politically and ethnocentrically correct for the NDC and Nyebros.
Another important and critical appointment in the enlistment and recruitment process of officers and Other Ranks respectively into the military is the Director General of Records at the General Headquarters. That appointment has been cleverly given to Brigadier General M Kwami. The initial and final documentation of Other Ranks and Commissioned officers are done by the Forces Records Department with Brigadier General Kwami as its Director General, As Nyebros
Brigadier General M Kwami, Colonel MK Asuka, Brigadier General LK Atror, Major General LK Gbetanu and Lieutenant General W Agyapong will dance harmoniously in “Agbadza” style to ensure that their kinsmen get the lion’s share of all enlistments and recruitments.
Furthermore, the appointment of Brigadier General CY Dagadu as the Director General, Civilian Establishment, would ensure that most, if not all, persons employed as civilians to support the military and all the Services shall be Nyebros, their associates and dependants.
The Civilian Employees of the Ghana Armed Forces constitute a very large force and play very critical roles all over the Garrisons and military locations. Where the footsoldiers are unsuitable for military enlistment and /or recruitment, they would be given sanctuary in the Civilian Establishment.
The appointment of Naval Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin as the Director General Public Relations of the Ghana Armed Forces provides the most important and critical interface between the Ghana Armed Forces and the Ghanaian Public over all issues. The Director General Public Relations will be dealing with all the media platforms. She will announce, explain and respond to all matters affecting and related to the military including enlistment and recruitment issues.
It is obvious from these analyses that the appointments made by the President, as the Chairman of the Armed Forces Council on 25th April 2025 and published by the Military Secretary on 28th April were carefully thought through, planned and executed to meet all the symphonies of the NDC music orchestra.
